Bold Journey interviews with Meet Maya Moghadam

September 22, 2023

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maya Moghadam. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maya below.

Hi Maya, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I was raised in a spiritual family. God was always the center of my life. In the environments in which I was raised (multiple countries), not allowed freedom of religion. We were taught religion without the backing of love. Once I had the freedom to experience religion and a God filled with love, I found each day can be full of optimism.

My family taught me to be generous, patient, and respectful of all persons with ideas that differ from my own. They also helped me to face challenges and remain positive in each situation. Instead of getting lost, I was encouraged to make a plan for the next move. I’m so blessed that my parents taught me and my faith is constantly teaching me, how to face each obstacle and see the potential for a positive outcome.

I’ve always been searching for a way to bring together what I learned from my family and couple it with my religious beliefs. Once I found Christianity, I immediately knew I’d found my home. It is a religion filled with what I was taught growing up. I became a Christian in 2019.

Anytime in my life that I’m facing challenges, as a foreigner who lives in a new land and faces various hardships daily…faith is the only thing that keeps me optimistic. I know that My Lord has a plan for me, thus I have hope.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am…

An Interior Designer
A Designer
An Artist
A Business Woman
A Fitness Trainer
A Nature Lover
A World Traveler
An Awarded Interior designer nationally and internationally

I feel like living in different countries around the world and learning about different cultures and lifestyles opened my eyes and allowed me to be a better designer.

Also, two master’s degrees in interior design and an MBA taught me a lot to align beauty with reality and lifestyle.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
As I mentioned before, much of who I am, is a result of my faith and my parents. I’m fortunate to have received a “cultural education” by living around the world with parents who were both in the arts. In addition to my undergraduate Arts and Crafts, plus a Master of Interior Design and MBA in marketing, I was granted the opportunity to attend and graduate from the Savannah College of Arts and Design the number one interior Design College in the US Atlanta, Georgia. It helped me to gain experience and a vast education in the field of Interior Design. Along with my time in Atlanta, my undergraduate degree, my MBA, and my faith, I feel prepared and ready to overcome any challenges I may face.
